Dr. Dragos Serseni, MD, MBA, MPA
Principal Investigator
Dr. Dragos Serseni is a board-certified psychiatrist and addiction-medicine specialist with over two decades of experience in clinical care, research, and medical education. He leads the Neuromodulation Program at the Long Beach VA Hospital and serves as Clinical Associate Professor at UC Riverside and Charles Drew University.
As a Principal Investigator at DOR Research Accelerator, Dr. Serseni oversees studies in neuromodulation, depression, and PTSD, integrating neuroscience and precision psychiatry into innovative clinical research. He holds medical and business degrees from Carol Davila University, NYU Stern School of Business, and Harvard Kennedy School, reflecting his combined expertise in medicine, research, and healthcare leadership.
Peter Bota
Clinical Research Coordinator
Peter Bota is a medical student and research professional specializing in neuroscience and translational psychiatry. Before joining DORRA, he coordinated clinical trials at BrainHealth Solutions and the Long Beach VA, contributing to multi-site studies on PTSD, insomnia, and treatment-resistant depression, including MeRT-005-B, VAST-D II, and Kernel cognitive-neuroimaging projects.
He has published and presented widely on topics spanning neurodegeneration, forensic psychiatry, and mental-health research, reflecting his dedication to advancing ethical, data-driven innovation in neuromodulation and clinical neuroscience.
Diana Totoiu
Clinical Research Manager
Diana brings a background in behavioral science, data analysis, and administrative support within the mental health field. Her experience working closely with a psychiatrist has given her a strong foundation in clinical operations, patient care, and research coordination. Passionate about understanding human behavior and decision-making, Diana enjoys turning complex data into meaningful insights that drive better outcomes. She is currently expanding her expertise in market and clinical research analytics, blending curiosity with an evidence-based mindset.
Known for her reliability, warmth, and collaborative approach, she enjoys contributing to teams that value both precision and empathy. Outside of work, Diana loves baking, tennis, sailing, and exploring new ways to connect science with everyday life.

Duyen Nguyen
Research Associate
Duyen Nguyen is a research associate specializing in neuromodulation and cognitive neuroscience. Before joining DORRA, she worked at BrainHealth Solutions as a TMS technician and research associate, supporting studies involving the SAINT protocol, MeRT PTSD trial, and the Kernel cognitive-outcomes project.
Her background includes five years of hands-on clinical experience across multiple medical specialties, reflecting her ongoing commitment to advancing innovative, patient-centered approaches in mental health research.
Johan Ann
Lead Clinical Research Coordinator
With over 15 years of experience in behavioral health and neuroscience research, John Ann brings extensive expertise in clinical coordination, patient care, and trial management.
Before joining DORRA, he advanced from inpatient behavioral health roles to leadership in outpatient clinical research, overseeing numerous Phase II–IV trials in psychiatry and neurology.

Dr. Daniela A. Bota, MD, PhD
Translational Neuroscience & Clinical Research
Dr. Daniela Bota is an internationally recognized physician–scientist and Professor of Neurology at UC Irvine. She has led pioneering research in neuro-oncology, immunotherapy, and neuromodulation, directing multiple NIH- and industry-sponsored clinical trials.
At DOR Research Accelerator, Dr. Bota advises on clinical trial design, translational neuroscience strategy, and the integration of advanced neuromodulation technologies into patient-centered research. Her work bridges academic innovation with real-world impact — accelerating the path from discovery to clinical application.s
Dr. Robert Bota, MD, MSG, DFAPA
Neuromodulation & Translational Psychiatry
Dr. Robert Bota is a board-certified psychiatrist and Distinguished Fellow of the APA with extensive expertise in TMS and advanced neuromodulation therapies. Before joining DOR Research Accelerator, he served as Chief Medical Officer at CenExel CNS, driving innovation in neuropsychiatric clinical trials, and later as Medical Director and Principal Investigator at BrainHealth Solutions, where he expanded access to evidence-based TMS and precision neuromodulation programs.
A co-author on SAINT accelerated TMS studies, Dr. Bota has helped shape modern interventional psychiatry standards. At DOR, he provides expert consultation in TMS integration, clinical-research design, and translational neuroscience strategy.
